Sailfish, a sad sight - Rabaul, Papua New Guinea

I took this photograph on my way to a dive site. It was an emotional moment, to see such a magnificent fish, hanging dead on the road side. I have never seen a Sailfish underwater. I wondered who would actually drive by this remote area and buy the fish. I just hope that it didn't go to waste, perhaps the fisherman's family ended up keeping it. I wonder how much it could have sold for? Perhaps this was a rare and wonderful one off catch for a local fisherman? The Sailfish is beleived to be the fastest fish in the sea.
